  • The pollution of petroleum has become an environment problem that has been paid wide attention in the word. Bioremediation technology of petroleum contaminated soil has become an important field in research of decontamination of petroleum contamination for its advantages of low cost, little environmental effect, simpleness and efficiency and it has a bright perspective in future. The paper introduced the general situation of petroleum contamination in China and the application of bioremediation technology in decontamination of petroleum contamination, the progresses of microbial remediation, phytoremediation and microbial-phytoremediation for soils contaminated by petroleum in rescent years and their advantages and disadvantages were reviewed in this paper. Finally, the main research fields of bioremediation of petroleum contaminated soil were put forward.

Abstract: The pollution of petroleum has become an environment problem that has been paid wide attention in the word. Bioremediation technology of petroleum contaminated soil has become an important field in research of decontamination of petroleum contamination for its advantages of low cost, little environmental effect, simpleness and efficiency and it has a bright perspective in future. The paper introduced the general situation of petroleum contamination in China and the application of bioremediation technology in decontamination of petroleum contamination, the progresses of microbial remediation, phytoremediation and microbial-phytoremediation for soils contaminated by petroleum in rescent years and their advantages and disadvantages were reviewed in this paper. Finally, the main research fields of bioremediation of petroleum contaminated soil were put forward.
